Perseverance-God Moment

The past few weeks I have had quite a bit thrown onto my plate. With college starting, wedding planning, and personal issues I have felt so much stress. Recently I was sitting at my desk feeling defeated by the day. Instead of sitting there, drowning myself in my misery I chose to spend time with God. Oh what perfect timing it was! I opened my Bible and happened to look at James 1: 2-4 which reads “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” (NIV). Wake up call! All these tough things that have been happening recently is maturing me in Christ. He is testing my faith in order to make me complete in him! This revelation caused me to change my outlook on the problems that have been arising. I know that I can turn to him to find the strength to persevere. Amazing.

I actually used this thought in my first college art project, which I was reluctant to start. Once I put pen to paper I became excited to see it transform. Every marking on my portrait is a letter. You can see how tedious it could become. Amazingly I finished two days early!
