Adorable Crocheted Baby Dress for Sunny Days

Turning ho-hum into sunshine.  At the time of this writing, it is a dreary February day and hopes for seeing the sun could be dashed by a gloomy weather forecast. However, this adorable crocheted baby dress has lifted my spirits. What better way to chase the gloom away than crocheting for a sunny day.

I found this baby dress pattern in the book I bought years ago called “Sunny Day Dresses for Babies & Toddlers” by Diane Simpson. The book is out of print but I found a link on Annie’s ePatterns if you are interested in purchasing and making your own. The pattern is called “Vanilla Baby Dress.” I love how the finished project turned out. Take a look at the specifics…

The skirt is made with “crocheted” shells that create a luscious texture intensified by the cotton/bamboo yarn. The white grosgrain ribbon woven in-and-out of chain loops adds the finishing touch to the empire waist.
