Sewn Bind Off for a Knitted Edge

After finishing the last row of the project and before cutting off the working yarn, measure out approximately 3 to 4 times the length of the area to be bound off. Cut yarn and thread a tapestry needle.  

Insert tapestry needle purl wise through first 2 stitches.

Pull yarn through until snug but not tight.

Insert tapestry needle knit wise through first stitch. Pull yarn through until snug but not tight.

Drop first stitch off knitting needle, leaving 2nd stitch on knitting needle.

Begin the process again by inserting tapestry needle purl wise through two stitches.  Repeat all steps until all stitches are bound off. Tie off with a knot or as desired to secure and weave end into material so it does not show.
